Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy (OJVA), based in Beaverton, will join the West Coast Volleyball Association (WCVBA) beginning with the 2021-2022 season.
OJVA is headed up by Steve Suttich with a supporting cast of current and former collegiate coaches with a combined 145 years of coaching experience. OJVA believes in providing a safe environment for junior volleyball athletes to develop strong fundamental skills, build character and realize their potential as responsible friends, teammates and leaders in their community.
Suttich has loads of experience behind him. He played at UCLA where he was named an All-American, winning one of the Bruins' 19 National Championships. He then moved into coaching where he was named the head coach at the University of Washington. Along with his club director duties, Suttich also coaches the 16U USAV National Team and is the camp director for Nike Volleyball US Sports Camps.
Suttich has used his experience to create a winning culture in Beaverton. OJVA has had immense success in their region as they had multiple teams finish first in their respective gold divisions last season. On a national level, they were just as impressive, sending their top 16's, 17's and 18's teams to Girls Junior National Championship (GJNC), all receiving bids.
The WCVBA is very excited to have such a competitive club join the league.
"We are thrilled to gain a quality and competitive club like OJVA," said Dustin Moore, WCVBA's Director of Competitions. "WCVBA extending into Oregon, specifically with this addition, fortifies the association as we continue to work to create a competitive environment for our players ."
