Valley Volleyball Academy (VVA), based in California's Central Valley, will join the West Coast Volleyball Association (WCVBA) beginning with the 2021-2022 season. 

VVA is new to the club volleyball landscape, but its leadership team and club direction is not. Headed up by Jonathan Winder and supported by long-time familiar faces like Chantal Paschetta, Shasta Millhollin, Daniel Samarin, and Jeff Wanderer, VVA  is "a volleyball community for the good of the Valley," and strives to be a competitive and unifying force for volleyball development in Fresno and the surrounding areas. 

Winder has loads of experience behind him. A collegiate All-American at Pepperdine, he went on to play professionally and for Team USA.  He then coached indoor at Pepperdine and indoor and beach at Washington before accepting the head job at Fresno State in 2018.

This experience has given Winder the tools to examine volleyball in the Central Valley and figure out how to take it to the next level. Together with the extensive coaching staff and leadership team, VVA will work toward their goal of establishing "a culture of shared habits and values that lead the way for all the players, coaches and parents. [VVA] believes that playing by principles and not feelings will lower the stress and provide consistency and joy in performance. Those core values are: growth, humble hard-work, friendship, and courage."

The WCVBA is very excited to have such a competitive club join the league. 

"Central California has always represented strong athletes, competitive teams, and great volleyball," said Matt McEvoy, WCVBA Executive Director. "We are really excited to see the great staff at VVA pursue their mission and improve on the already great tradition of volleyball in the Valley."
