Competition Notes
1. Each team will play at least 5, 50 minute matches over the weekend with a 30 second timeout at the 25 minute mark to reset lineups. The score table will be keeping a flip score (because everyone cares about score) and for situational purposes ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO OFFICIAL SCORES REPORTED for results or future seeding purposes. At the end of 25 minutes, the score will be reset to 0-0 regardless of the outcome to begin the 2nd set. If a team exceeds 25 points before the 25 minute mark, play will continue.
2. All teams are placed in pools to play against like opponents, there are no direct results, brackets or flow charts.
3. Uniforms are optional for Jamboree, many clubs do not yet have their uniforms yet. Team shirts with or without number are recommended if you will not be using traditional uniforms. Players playing the libero position MUST wear a jersey or shirt that is distinctly different than standard players.
4. Teams assigned to Ref need to provide an R2, line judges and athletes to work the score desk. This is a great opportunity to teach your athletes to R2 in a semi-competitive environment. Keeping an official scoresheet and libero tracking is suggested for learning purposes but not required because there are no official scores. We are scheduled to have R1 officials from PSBO for all matches. There are no protests allowed in WCVBA Jamboree.
5. There are unlimited substitutions, please be reasonable. Coaches should treat substitutions as they would in a standard match. A team may use 2 libero’s in each 25 minute segment.
6. Each team is allowed to take 1, 30 second timeout during each 25 minute segment. Coaches may coach on court during these timeouts.
7. Warm up will be 5 minutes per team for the first match per day and 3 minutes per team for all subsequent matches.
